IMO CII and EEXI
Sustainability in the Marine Industry
As an industry leader, Safinah adeptly interprets and guides clients through the intricacies of the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) index and Energy Efficiency Existing Ship Index (EEXI).
The CII index, a measure of a ship’s carbon intensity, serves as a catalyst for operators to elevate vessel energy efficiency. In contrast, EEXI establishes baseline energy efficiency standards for existing ships, aiming to curtail emissions from the current fleet.
Safinah conducts annual coating performance reviews for clients including benchmark to external fleets. This allows a fleet level performance benchmark to be established with improvement targets and coating strategies to be established.
