Safinah worked to support the client over a 2 year period on a $3.5bn legal claim for inadequate corrosion protection of a newly installed gas pipeline. Many of the field joint coatings were showing blistering and disbonding along the edges of the joint.

Safinah was contracted by a major paint manufacturer to carry out analysis of the market for offshore wind farm foundations in order to identify the market demand and forecast for coatings based on current and future foundation types, key market players and decision makers, current coating offers, technology used and provide assessment thereof.
Wind farm coating failure investigation
An offshore wind farm with wind turbines erected on mono-piles started to show evidence of coating failure after a few years. The failure was identified as corrosion and blistering from the splash zone upwards. Safinah was instructed to examine, quantify and identify the reason for the coating breakdown for the owner and their insurer. Based on this, a procedure to repair the windmill in situ was then proposed.
